FIBROMYALGIA

A Holistic Integrated Approach

FSM Frequency Specific Microcurrents

To begin our understanding of Fibromyalgia, let’s use the analogy of a stream and its source or head water.

We have causes of this condition which are ‘upstream’ and we have physical and mental symptoms which are ‘downstream.’

We can devote time and energy to cleaning up the river but until we investigate the origin of the toxic pollutants, we will never make much headway.

For many years Haskell was occupied with treating the ‘downstream’ biochemical, hormonal and immunological symptoms of Fibro, knowing full well that the brain and Central Nervous System were the ‘upstream’ culprits, but there wasn’t any therapy to address and correct them.

Then he met and studied with Dr. Carolyn McMakin, and a therapeutic solution was found, and it changed everything.

“Finally… finally I heard of Dr. McMakin’s work using Frequency Specific Microcurrents (FSM), and the last piece of the puzzle was put into place.”

“Finally there was a way to treat the brain and spinal column, a way to reduce inflammation, and a way to reduce scar tissue resulting from trauma, hemorrhaging and inflammation.”

“Finally a way to improve the function of both the hypothalamus and pituitary, a way to reduce pain and Substance P, and a way to reduce the inflammatory cytokines.”

“Finally a way to increase ATP (energy) production by mitochondria, and a way to increase the body’s own pain suppressors (beta endorphins).”

Now, a pharmaceutical prescription may be necessary at times to relieve symptoms, but it can never restore physical and mental health.

The ONLY way of recovering your health is to simultaneously address the upstream brain and Central Nervous System issues through FSM, and to use dietary changes, supplements, intravenous therapies, and sometimes the use of hormonal prescriptions in the beginning to improve the downstream symptoms.

A Brief Overview

Here is an overview of various topics found in the navigation bar.  Each heading can be clicked to take you to that page.

Fibromyalgia

This page includes historical perspectives, the most common causes, why Fibro is challenging to treat, how both the Central Nervous System and the Autonomic Nervous System are involved, and some secondary causes.

A Case of Fibromyalgia

This is a woman who had been suffering for 40 years and what we found to be the primary underlying cause of her condition.

Alternative Medicine

This page discusses some principles of alternative and holistic medicine, the innate wisdom we each possess for healing, and the three primary causes of chronic illness.

Secondary Causes

These are causes which are usually not primary, but aggravate and perpetuate the Fibromyalgia symptoms and prevent recovery.  These include toxins, intense chronic stress, food allergies, chronic infections, parasites, vestibular ear issues, mold, and sleep apnea.

Fluoride

A very interesting and possible cause of Fibromyalgia, fluoride poisoning from the medication Cipro, and the need to avoid exposure through fluoridated water, supplements and prescriptions.

Fructose Intolerance

Low serotonin is a feature of Fibromyalgia, and the research shows poor absorption of the amino acid tryptophan, the precursor for making serotonin, due to fructose intolerance.

Cannabinoids

There are CB2 receptors on the Central Nervous System and other nerves to reduce pain and inflammation.  Besides Cannabis, there are various spices containing beta-caryophyllene which bind to these receptors, a natural option to opioids.

Frequency Specific Microcurrents

The work of Dr. Carolyn McMakin is discussed as well as the history and development of FSM. We attempt to explain the resonant effects of FSM on the tissues and glands of the body, and the most common frequency pairs we’ve found useful for Fibromyalgia.

LDN

Low dose naltrexone can be a better option than opiate prescriptions.  There is some good research around the use of LDN and Fibromyalgia.

Thyroid Hormones

We almost always find low or suboptimal thyroid hormones with Fibromyalgia clients.  It’s important to understand how to interpret thyroid lab tests, the causes for low thyroid hormone levels, and which thyroid medication may be most suitable.  In some cases, the use of a prescription can be short term until other issues are addressed and improved.

Cortisol

Because of chronic pain and inflammation, adrenal fatigue is present with low cortisol levels.  Cortisol is the body’s own natural inflammatory and helps to regulate blood sugar and prime the immune system.

Mitochondria

These small organelles inside every cell except red blood cells, have many functions, the most important being to power the function of the cell within which they reside.  There are many causes of mitochondrial dysfunction.  We need to provide the nutrients they need and assist detoxification at the cellular level.

Mold

Almost a third of the Fibro clients we see have mold, and this shows up when viewing a tiny finger prick of blood under the microscope.  There are many physical and mental symptoms of systemic mold and simply intensify many of the classic symptoms of Fibromyalgia.

Heavy Metals

These are toxins which have an affinity for the fatty sheath surrounding all our nerves, which disrupts their function leading to neurological symptoms including numbness, tingling, lack of coordination and increased neurological pain.  There’s research on this page making a link between heavy metals and Fibromyalgia.

Fibromyalgia Book

Here’s a link to Haskell’s book which covers in much greater detail a lot of what we’ve provided on this site.

Intravenous Therapies

Lab Testing

You may think you’ve had all the necessary lab testing, and this may be true, but it’s important how your labs have been interpreted by your physician.  There may also be some important labs which have not been done.

Supplements

Here is a list of the most common supplements we recommend for Fibromyalgia clients.

Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia Syndrome has reached epidemic proportions with women being those primarily affected.

With the first research article written by Dr. Yunis, MD, in 1981, how can it be that we now have an estimated 10 million people diagnosed with this condition just 40 years later?

Our standard medical system considers Fibromyalgia to be incurable, but we beg to differ, since there are effective alternative options which are outlined on this site.

FSM Frequency Specific Microcurrents

To begin our understanding of Fibromyalgia, let’s use the analogy of a stream and its source or head water.
